Information for Guidance Counsellors
As a guidance counsellor or member of your student’s support team, you play a vital role in your student’s educational journey towards a rewarding career. Having the right tools in-hand allows you to offer guidance and support as they choose the postsecondary program and institution that will shape their academic future. From information on upcoming events and submission deadlines, to tips on supporting your young adult, we’ve got you covered.
While the information below is designed to support guidance counsellors in Canada, the messages below are important to anyone who is looking to guide their student through the post-secondary process.

Admissions
Ontario High School Admissions
Ontario High School students will be required to use the 101 application. Your students will require a PIN from your school guidance team to access and complete the application. The PINs should be supplied starting in October.
Students will navigate to the link and use their PIN to create a new account. Once completed, they can follow the to complete their application.

Out of province High School Admissions
Out of province students will be required to use the . Applicants require the successful completion of a secondary school diploma with the equivalent course requirements as Ontario applicants with a minimum 70% average.
105 students will need to create a new account to start their application. The will take you to the page where you can do so.

Scholarships and Bursaries
For admissions and award purposes, 91茄子 calculates admission averages based on the top six final marks from an Ontario student's 4U/M courses, regardless of prerequisites for the intended program of study.

Eligibility for renewal will be based on full-time status in previous academic year (30 credits of which 24 credits must have been taken in the Fall/Winter term, remaining 6 must be taken in the spring term).
NOTE: Scholarships are paid on a May to April cycle. Amounts will be pro-rated based on the number of credits per semester.
To find information concerning applicant bursaries, you can do so on in your student's portal. All bursaries are application based but it can all be done through a smart form that can be completed once for all bursaries. Please ensure your application is complete (incomplete applications will not be reviewed) and that any supporting documents such as letters of recommendation, etc. are sent to the Student Awards Office at financialaid@laurentian.ca by the March 26 deadline. Please enter the award name in your subject line when submitting additional documents.
Important Dates
Please ensure your students are aware of the following timelines:
- The deadline to apply to 91茄子 for equal consideration for fall 2023 is:
- January 12, 2023 for all 101 applicants (Ontario high school students);
- February 1, 2023 for 105 applicants wishing to be considered for limited enrollment programs;
- Our guaranteed response date for 101 applications is May 29, 2023;
- The deadline for 101 applicants to accept an offer is June 1, 2023;
- The residence application deadline for 101 applicants is June 2, 2023;
- The first day of the 2023/24 academic year will be Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
